Of course every car would like to win awards.  Awards prove to the consumers that it is a note worthy car to look at.  Well the new generation of the Fuision has bee named the Best in Show award at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS)!!  Not many midsize sedans win this award, and in fact its a very big achievement for a mid size sedan to receive this award.  The highest award from Autoweekcomes just one day after the car received the prestigious Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology’s EyesOn Design award at NAIAS.  Smart, sleek and fresh, the new Fusion is set to change how people think about midsize sedans, elevating the game with jaw-dropping fuel economy and the smart technology and refinement typically found in cars costing thousands more. Hey all.  I wanted to tell you about a great award that the Ford F-150 won.  Now I know most of you do not know this, but the Ford F-150 won the “Truck of the Year” award which is announced by Motor Trend Magazine.  One of the big reasons that this truck won this award was because of  its Turbocharged EcoBoost engine.  This engine mixes efficiency with power.  In fact, this engine is more powerful than the regular 5.0 L V-8 one.  The 2011 Ford F-150 can also tow more than the 5 L V-8 when equipped with this engine.  Click here to read an in depth review of the 2011 Ford Explorer.

In European markets these sales numbers have existed for years. Cost of fuel in most European nations is double or triple what we are used to paying here. It is not so much by choice but rather by necessity that European drivers have had to adapt their preferences.

Ford has been experiencing some pre- Great Recession sales numbers across the full spectrum of their offerings but the strongest increases have been seen in vehicles that save at the pump.

During Focus Rally: America, teams will rely on friends, fans and followers to help complete challenges during the cross-country road rally. World Cup and Olympic gold medal winner Jonny Moseley will serve as the host of the show, which will run for five weeks.

Fans of Focus Rally: America can get involved in several ways. They can view the nightly video webisodes on www.Hulu.com beginning tomorrow evening to see highlights of that day’s rally. At www.focusrally.com, they can follow the rally live and interact with rally teams while on the road. Additionally, they can join in the rally competition by registering as a supporter of one of the teams and then assisting that team to complete tasks and challenges throughout the rally.

These registered “virtual team members” will earn points through daily interaction on www.focusrally.com, with some fans being rewarded with experiences to join in the rally personally along the way, similar to the six that were chosen to head to Miami. Additionally, eight 2012 Ford Focus vehicleswill be awarded to fans and followers through the rally.

More than 10,000 people have already signed up to support their favorite team.

Six teams will compete against each other to win the title of Focus Rally: America champion. The winning team will receive a grand prize of $100,000, and both team members will receive a new 2012 Ford Focus.

These “intelligent” vehicles will be able to alert drivers and slow the car down if there is a sudden change in traffic patterns ahead, alert the driver if there is someone in their blind spot when changing lanes, and even anticipate intersection collisions.

“Ford believes intelligent vehicles that talk to each other through advanced Wi-Fi are the next frontier of collision avoidance innovations that could revolutionize the driving experience and hold the potential of helping reduce many crashes,” said Sue Cischke, group vice president, Sustainability, Environment and Safety Engineering in a recent press release.

Some of this technology is already here, in fact. Two examples are Ford’s collision warning with brake support and Blind Spot Information System with cross-traffic alert, which relies on radar sensors to detect vehicles or objects close to the vehicle.

For starters, the 2012 Ford Focus has an all-new chassis and suspension and new cornering assist technology. Additionally you’ll get to experience a new dual-clutch six-speed PowerShift automatic transmission.

The new Ford Focus also boasts an Electronic Power Assist Steering  system.

Oh, and did we mention the fact that it has a road-ripping 247-horsepower hatchback edition? The overall look is one of silky smooth lines on a car that’s designed for speed and performance.

The 2012 Ford Focus is expected to hit dealers this spring and we can’t wait to tear up the roads with it.

The fleet of 98 refrigerated Ford trucks and vans now reaches into all 50 states, according to a press release.

“Through this unique partnership, Ford Motor Company has remained committed to playing a role in addressing hunger relief throughout good and bad economic times,” said Bill Ford, executive chairman, Ford Motor Company in a press release. “To date, our donated trucks have delivered more than 130 million meals to families across the country.”

“The Ford C-MAX provides still more proof of how our One Ford plan continues to deliver the high-quality, fuel-efficient products people really want,” said Mark Fields, Ford’s president of The Americas in a recent press release. “C-MAX is just right for customers in North America seeking stylish, flexible transportation and life-enhancing technology that comes standard.”

The C-MAX is part of what Ford has dubbed its global small vehicle strategy, which promises to deliver 10 vehicles from one C-vehicle platform by 2012.

Features include a hands-free rear liftgate, a unique 5 plus 2 seating configuration made up of five seats in the main cabin area and two small seats in the third row.  It also has the capability to automatically steer into parallel parking spaces.
