Dewey Auto Group Provides Transportation and Manpower For Westwood Elementary Food Drive

Dewey Auto Group once again this year provided assistance to Westwood Elementary School in Ankeny, IA for their annual food drive to benefit the Neveln Center in Ankeny.  Over a month long period of time, the students collect non-perishable food and  paper items to help the less fortunate in the area. Dewey Ford and Dewey Dodge Jeep Ram then helps out by providing trucks and employees who transport the items to the center.  This is an ongoing annual effort as a part of Dewey’s business partnership with Westwood Elementary.

The Neveln Center, Inc. serves the needs of area families on multiple levels. The vision is for the Center to provide a central location and coordination for resources of non-profit and people oriented organizations which are accessible to everyone in the community. The efforts of the center focus on coordination and collaborating with various area organizations, agencies and community groups to make services cost efficient and more available.

The center services currently include before and after-school day care, a clothing pantry where families with the basic need for clothing can obtain garments at no charge, fine art support and education, craft activities, as well as juvenile crime prevention, support for special needs young adults, counseling and referral resource for at-risk children in the Ankeny Community Schools.

Dewey Automotive Group Raises Money For Wounded Warriors

On July 2, 2011, Dewey Automotive Group held it’s 2nd Annual Rock The Stars & Stripes Event.  The event was a day long festival to honor our military men and women and almost $8000 was raised for Operation First Response.

Operation First Response is an organization that serves all branches of our nation’s wounded warriors and their families with personal and financial needs.  Services are provided from the onset injury or illness, throughout their recovery and along their journey from military life to the civilian world.  Often times, it can take up to 18 months or more before our wounded or disabled heroes receive their earned benefits from the goverment.  In the mean time they still have families for whom they must provide for.

In addition to the fund raiser, employees and guests at the event had the honor to sign a specially designed quilt that will be sent to one of our local soldiers serving in Afghanistan with heartfelt wishes from the group.

The day was also filled with fun and entertainment for all those who attended. Entertainment was provided by Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band “The Establishment”, .  In addition, Motorcraft Racing also was on hand to display  the 21 Woods Brothers Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup car driven by Trevor Bane and Tasca Racing’s  NHRA Quick Lane Mustang Funny Car. The local Mustang Club also was on hand showcasing classic Mustangs for everyone to enjoy.

Dewey would like to thank the many  local vendors, and local businesses for their generous donations of items that were auctioned off at the silent auction. We would also like to extend of special thank you to Gary Chamness of Chamness Technologies for providing the food sold during the event and also a special thank you to “The Establishment” for the generous donation of their time to entertain the crowd and to the local Mustang Club.

It was a day of fun, food, and entertainment plus a fantastic success for Operation First Response.  Dewey Auto Group looks forward to continuing to work with Operation First Response and the The American Legion throughout the year and for years to come to help support them in their efforts to assist our brave warriors.

2011 Ford Shelby GT500

The 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 is in stock now at Dewey Ford of Iowa!!

The Shelby GT500 remains the most potent version of the Mustang, and it receives an all-new aluminum engine for 2011 that’s 102 pounds lighter and 10 hp more powerful. The supercharged 5.4-liter V-8 now makes 550 hp and 510 pounds-feet of torque. The V-8 takes premium gas, and its estimated fuel economy has improved to 15/23 mpg thanks to weight reduction, the use of an electric power-steering system and better underbody air management. The gas mileage improvement means the Shelby GT500 isn’t subject to a gas-guzzler tax anymore.

A new SVT Performance Package features Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G:2 tires on lightweight 19-inch front and 20-inch rear forged-aluminum wheels, a 3.73 axle ratio, a limited-slip differential, firmer springs and a lowered ride height. Also new for 2011, the Shelby GT500 can have an optional panoramic glass roof — a feature that’s been available for the regular Mustang — and high-intensity-discharge headlights are now standard.

The Ram Heavy Duty is aimed at commercial and fleet users, buyers of serious, diesel-powered chassis cabs; upfitter friendliness and maintenance costs are best in class. Lowering maintenance costs and increasing stopping power, the Ram 4500/5500 has the largest front brake rotors (390 mm) and calipers (66 mm) in its class, with a standard diesel exhaust brake. The standard diesel 24,000 lb. Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) and optional 26,000 lb. GCWR package are both best-in-class on 3500. The 2011 Dodge Ram will continue to use the previous generation’s proven chassis and frame, but with more comfort, higher capabilities, and more body options, including a crew cab.
