Changing environment and Ford Motors

Ford has been recognized as a leader in trying to change its environmental footprint and has therefore been given the Climate Leadership Award.  This is an award given to company’s that are trying to change its impact on the environment.  Ford surely has done this and is trying to do this even more in future years.  They have been presented with this award because they have reduced CO2 emissions from its global manufacturing facilities by 4.8 million metric tons, from 2000 to 2010.  Another reason that they have been given this prestigious award is because they want boost average fuel economy in its vehicle lineup by 35 percent or more by 2015.  From 2005-2010, they have already boosted average fuel economy by 20 percent.  Furthermore when they received this award, Ford Motor Company publicly stated a goal of reducing manufacturing greenhouse gas emissions by thirty percent from 2010 to 2025.  Click here to go back to Deweytube.
