Hey all. I wanted to tell you about a great award that the Ford F-150 won. Now I know most of you do not know this, but the Ford F-150 won the “Truck of the Year” award which is announced by Motor Trend Magazine. One of the big reasons that this truck won this award was because of its Turbocharged EcoBoost engine. This engine mixes efficiency with power. In fact, this engine is more powerful than the regular 5.0 L V-8 one. The 2011 Ford F-150 can also tow more than the 5 L V-8 when equipped with this engine. Dewey Auto Group once again this year provided assistance to Westwood Elementary School in Ankeny, IA for their annual food drive to benefit the Neveln Center in Ankeny. Over a month long period of time, the students collect non-perishable food and paper items to help the less fortunate in the area. Dewey Ford and Dewey Dodge Jeep Ram then helps out by providing trucks and employees who transport the items to the center. This is an ongoing annual effort as a part of Dewey’s business partnership with Westwood Elementary.
The Neveln Center, Inc. serves the needs of area families on multiple levels. The vision is for the Center to provide a central location and coordination for resources of non-profit and people oriented organizations which are accessible to everyone in the community. The efforts of the center focus on coordination and collaborating with various area organizations, agencies and community groups to make services cost efficient and more available.
The center services currently include before and after-school day care, a clothing pantry where families with the basic need for clothing can obtain garments at no charge, fine art support and education, craft activities, as well as juvenile crime prevention, support for special needs young adults, counseling and referral resource for at-risk children in the Ankeny Community Schools.

So far we have not seen Chrysler offer a hybrid, but since Fiat has acquired Chrysler, it seems to be spending it’s time developing full electrics, or plug in hybrids with a small range extending gasoline engine a-la Chevy volt. There’s also been talk of an all electric version of Fiat’s 500 mini car. Chrysler is testing out a fleet of all electric Town and Country Minivans with the US Postal Service for mail delivery. Specially equipped Postal stations involved in the program will provide the necessary infrastructure for charging the vans.
